Diver Discovers “Cookie Sea Monster”

You never know what you’re going to find when you go diving. The ocean is such a vast entity, full of so many unknowns. There are still so many things we don’t know about the organisms that reside down under. It truly is the final frontier, at least on our own planet. Just ask Mauricio Handler and his wife, Julia, who came across quite the discovery during their last adventure to the reefs of Curacao in the Caribbean. Initially unnoticed by Mauricio, it was his wife who came face to face with the “cookie monster of the sea” as they are calling it (I prefer “cookie sea monster” but what do I know) and couldn’t contain her laughter. Here’s a look at it.

This sea sponge, which is about 3 ft tall, bears an unbelievable resemblance to Sesame Street’s own Cookie Monster. You be the judge.
