This week’s featured artist is a dude who has been in the game for a while now, yet still remains largely unknown. Hailing from Lawrence, MA, Reks first jumped into the game back in 2000 where he quickly become a favorite on the underground Boston hip hop scene. Shortly thereafter, he was signed to Brick Records, and released in debut album Along Came The Chosen in 2001. Since then, he has released 5 albums, 7 EP’s, and 2 mixtapes. Despite his extensive list of work, people don’t really talk about him all too often, very much like another talented MC from Lawrence, Termanology. That’s not the only thing they have in common, as Statik Selektah is close with Reks and has produced at least one song on all of his albums. Anyways, here’s the first track I’m coming at y’all with, “25th Hour”, the first song off of his album Rhythmatic Eternal King Supreme, which was nominated for “Indie Album of the Year” back in 2011. Premier on the beat. Enjoy.
