So the Emirati royal family is now the proud owners of “Azzam”, which, at 590 feet, eclipses some other Russian billionaire’s yacht by 57 feet, making it the world’s biggest “superyacht”. However, with that type of title comes a pretty heft price. Azzam cost the Emirati family a cool $605 Million. And that doesn’t even include the cost for upkeep, which can cost up to $60 million each year. Not only is the boat big, about the size of two football fields and larger than some cruise ships, but its fast, relatively speaking. It reportedly reaches speeds of up to 30 knots (about 35MPH), making it one of the fastest “superyachts” on the seas, despite its impressive size. There hasn’t been many details released about what lies inside, but rumors include an armor-plated master suite, two swimming pools, two helipads, a mini submarine, and even its own missile defense system. It took 3 years to complete the entire building process. Here’s a look at what this bad boy looks like, at night and during the day. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find any pictures of the interior, but I can imagine that it is very impressive. Until I do, these will have to do.
