Puppy Bowl IX

That’s right, it’s that time of year again. Sunday will bring the 2 single greatest sporting events that happen each year. Of course, we have the Ravens vs the 49ers in the Super Bowl, which should prove to be one hell of a game, but the other lesser-known even that has started to increase in popularity in recent years is the Puppy Bowl. A combination of truly amazing athleticism, edge-of-your-seat excitement, and adorableness, this game features a whole bunch of puppies playing football with chew toys, and I can guarantee that you will fall in love in the first 2 minutes of action. Unless you hate puppies, in which case fuck you. Fresh off of last year’s Puppy Bowl VIII, which many deemed “A Show For The Ages”, there is a record amount of anticipation for this year’s game. But before we get to that, a look back at last year, when Aberdeen, the Australian shepherd who’s favorite activity is napping, likes fetching the paper, and who coined the phrase “Aberdeen, Australian for tough” put the team on her back Greg Jennings style and had one of the best performance in recent memory.

That’s just some grade A action right there. Can’t wait for this year’s game. Airing this Sunday, Feb. 3 at 3:00 PM on Animal Planet, Puppy Bowl IX will feature the all new “ultra slo-mo cute cam”, hedgehog cheerleaders, blimp piloting hamsters, and a halftime show performance from none other than a bunch of cute kitties! You won’t want to miss out on this, it’s simply pure entertainment. After taking a look at this year’s roster I have come to the conclusion that there will be 2 prime time performers. First up is Cash, the 15 week old pit bull who is, “considered a mentor by all his fellow players”. Second is Gunther, the 13 year old pitbull/hound mix who’s “looking to make a name for himself Sunday”. Those two are definitely going to have a big impact on Sunday’s game. And my X-Factor has gotta Aurora, the 10 week old Siberian husky/retriever mix, who’s “been known to raise team morale with just one wag of the tail”.  Team morale plays a HUGE factor in this game. So I strongly encourage you to check out Puppy Bowl IX on Sunday while your doing what the rest of America does on Super Bowl Sunday afternoon, drinking beer, eating awesome food, and waiting for the real game to start.
